The 8ª edition of ExpoFerretera 2005 ended as a total success

The fair surpassed all expectations and generated great enthusiasm and the desire to get ready for the next edition in 2007.
In a period of 4 days, the fair was visited by 18,057 industry professionals, exceeding the attendance of the last edition by an 18%.
The fair took place from September 1-4 at Costa Salguero Trade Center.

The 8º edition of the International Hardware, Bathroom Fittings, Paint and Material Yard Supplying Companies Trade Fair, ExpoFerretera 2005 ended with thunderous applause. The 267 exhibitors that took part in ExpoFerretera expressed their satisfaction with the obtained results.

18,057 professionals attended the fair, most of which were businessmen from all over the country and some from limiting countries and beyond. This allowed them to make contact with new buyers and potential customers.

This latest edition surpassed the prior edition in all aspects. The gross area increased by 40% reaching 15,000 m2 and the number of exhibitors increased by 45%, going from 170 to 267. Some of them made comments:

“This is the first time we participate in this fair and we are very pleased because a lot of people have visited our booth. We have developed many business possibilities with distributors and friends from the hardware business. We intend to participate again in the next fair, in two years. Actually, we are on the verge of getting approval to come with a booth twice as big and with more product lines. So, we are very pleased and we believe is going to be a hit”.

“We wanted to participate in ExpoFerretera for the second time because we had had a very good level of acceptance from the clients the first time around. We are very pleased with the second edition, we have generated a big number of contacts and the attendance to our booth has surpassed that of the first edition. We hope to be present in the next edition and we also hope people continue to come and discover ExpoFerretera”.

There were also exhibitors from Brazil, China, Uruguay and Mexico. Jorge Anguiano, Production chief of Industrias Monarca of Mexico commented: “This the first time we participate in the fair. We have made very good contacts, we have good business possibilities, we have met our expectations and even exceeded some of them. Our business is the manufacture of disposable clothing for industrial use and we made several contacts to find possible distributors and direct importers for our products. The fair worked really well for us, we had people from almost every corner of Argentina, from Brazil and from Uruguay. Actually, I am delighted. It is highly possible that we return for 2007”

“This is our first time in ExpoFerretera and we are enjoying it quite a lot. We believe we will be back next year because I think it is a very important fair for the industry. We are making very good business contacts, we are very pleased with the fair and the event”.

The big innovation for this 8th edition of ExpoFerretera was the incorporation of ExpoCehap, the Locksmithing, Iron Fittings, Automation and Protection Fair, that was held in the fair for the first time. Thus, 40 companies working in an industry that is closely related to the hardware industry were incorporated.

Another of the attractions for this edition was the space called “Hardware Living Room” where several small companies of the industry exhibited a mono-product. As usual, the classic Traveling Museum was there for the visitors to see unique pieces, old tools and miniatures. Resides, in the “Trade courtyard” the visitors found products related to diverse trades, such as the naval modelist corner, the ceramist corner, etc.

Indexport Messe Frankfurt was in charge of the organization of the fair. The Managing Director of the company was very pleased with the results obtained at the end of the event: “I believe we have achieved our goal of presenting a better fair at the best international level in the Argentine Republic. With more than 260 exhibitors in this edition, which exceeds by 45% the attendance of 170 exhibitors we had in 2003, it is not a coincidence this growth has taken place with the fundamental participation of Argentine small and medium companies, which while looking for new exportation opportunities, are making a great effort to present their products in an event of this kind. We are committed to them, to offer a space, a business environment that matches the effort Argentine companies make to participate in it”.

The fair had the presence and support from Ca.F.A.R.A., Cámara de Ferreterías y Afines de la República Argentina (Argentine Chamber of Hardware Stores and related products) that is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Its President, Juan Carlos Mariño, said: “There is constant talk about the growth of the economy, of the reserves, and that is the product of the privilege of one industry that we do not intend. to discredit, but which does not truly benefit the people; we are still waiting to get those benefits. We believe equality is the most important value for the development of a country. Without a decent income, it is impossible to develop the domestic market and the profitability of our companies reflects this. It is obvious that our profitability has deteriorated greatly. (…) and while it is true that the corrections to the economic policy have enabled many small companies to produce for the domestic market, we still have a long way to go. Our hopes rest on two fundamental facts: the strength of the industry, 10,.000 hardware stores and more than 5,000 supplying industries and this fair which has grown almost by 50%, compared to 2003 (…)”.

The organizers confirmed that the whole of the Costa Salguero Exhibition Center would be used for the next edition: Exhibit halls 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 with an 18,000 m2. gross area. Everyone is already thinking of the next edition of ExpoFerretera, which will take place on August 30 - September 2, 2007.
