ExpoFerretera 2011 was confirmed as an excellent platform for presenting
new products and services
16,215 shopkeepers, businessmen and professional visitors of the sector
took part in the fair
ExpoFerretera 2011 ended with excellent results and the quality of
visitors exceeded the exhibitors' expectations. During the fair, the
main players of the sector attended a meeting which presented new
technologies applied to products and innovative handling and application
techniques.
The event had the presence of more than 268 exhibiting companies coming
from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, China, Scotland, Spain, United States,
India and Taiwan. During 4 days, 16,215 shopkeepers, businessmen and
professional visitors of the sector enjoyed a variety of academic
activities and were able to see in action different machines, tools and
equipment.
In the opening ceremony, the President of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, Mr.
Fernando Gorbarán, highlighted that: “In this 11th edition, you can see
many Argentine industry companies and small and medium companies with
great representation of the main producing provinces. This shows that
international companies, national companies and exclusive representative
importers can integrally offer a range of top-level products and
services in an event which has a regional profile.” He also added that:
“We believe in this model because the best way of defending an industry
is by creating these business platforms. Exhibitions have shown to be an
excellent place for producers, consumers, shopkeepers and manufacturers
to meet and present the best of art, technology and innovation produced
by our country."
Besides, the President of the Argentine Chamber of Hardware Stores and
Related Products (Ca.F.A.R.A), Mr. Juan Carlos Mariño, stated that:
“This 11th edition makes us feel very proud because every year is better
than the previous one, and this is not by chance, it is the result of
the dedication, effort and professionalism of all the people involved,
who have the aim of making of ExpoFerretera the greatest shop-window of
hardware products and services in general.” Regarding sector
specificities, he commented that: “Unlike other non-traditional sales
channels, we are a shop-window with more than 20,000 points of sale
distributed throughout the country with customized service. This
commercialization modality gives us prestige because we are
professionals and we sell the products that the buyer really needs
without pressing attitudes."
Once the opening ceremony finished, the ribbon-cutting ceremony took
place, which was attended by Dr. Giuseppe Pezzulo, Director of Italian
Embassy Department for the Promotion of Commercial Exchange, by Bach.
Pedro Cascales, President of the Argentine Machine Tool Association,
Capital Goods and Services for Production (CARMAHE) and Mr. Raúl
Zylbersztein, General Coordinator of PROARgentina (Secretariat of
Industry and Commerce of the Argentine Industry Department). Then, the
official visit of the fair began.
One of the most highlighted points of the fair was the 3rd International
Matchmaking Program of Hardware Products, organized by Messe Frankfurt
Argentina jointly with PROARgentina. 96 meetings were celebrated between
local companies and buyers coming from the following Latin American
countries: Bolivia, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela with great
future perspectives. All the participants were pleased with the obtained
results.
We also pledged to professional updating as a central aspect for the
sector progress. For this reason, it was successfully carried out the
cycle CEPRARA Talks on the news about products and techniques of the
painting sector, which had the participation of professionals and
artisan painters. Besides, in Hall 5 Auditorium the Exhibitors’
Technical Conferences were offered in which several techniques on the
use and application of products such as sealers, adhesives and paints
were developed.
Simultaneously, two special events were carried out:

ExpoCehap – The exhibition that gathers all suppliers of locksmith
shops and iron fittings. It is sponsored by Buenos Aires Chamber of
Locksmith Shops (CACEBA) and the Argentine Chamber of Iron Fittings and
Related Products' Manufacturers (CADEFHA).

Living Ferretero – A special sector devoted to small and medium
companies to exhibit their mono-products.
It is worth mentioning that during the event, Ca.F.A.R.A. and MECONAFE
(National Board of Hardware Coordination) which gathers the hardware
chamber throughout the country, celebrated meetings in order to define
subjects such as regulation of great commercial areas, protection to
small and medium companies of the sector, customer loyalty and the local
and regional outlook of the sector, among other subjects.
